What are adventure video games?
I’ve always been a fan of adventure video games. I remember spending countless hours playing point n’ click adventure games on my PC when I was younger. There’s just something about these types of games that draws me in. Whether it’s the story, the characters, or finding hidden items, I love them all. Before I play them, I usually look for a review or two of a desired game, and I do it online, on various websites. This is easy to do nowadays (much easier than before!) as all I have to do is type in review of X (just like a sports fan would type in review of the Betway sign up code Ghana or any other country to check it out) and voila – the review is there. Luckily for you, my dear readers, I have compiled a list of some of my favorites; This article will show you which ones are best.
About adventure games
Adventure video games (sometimes called point and click adventures) are a subset of the larger field of adventure games.
They are inspired by classic text-based adventure games, using graphics to replace the tedious typing found in their forebears. These days they’re also known as hybrid video games due to their ability to include elements from other genres such as action, horror, or puzzle. Adventure video games have been under criticism for years because many have considered them to be outdated since the early 90’s when the first golden age ended. However, there seems to be a new boom for them now that developers have worked out how to make them appealing to modern gamers.
The history of adventure games
The genre has its roots in text-based games like Zork, which was released by Infocom in 1980. But it really took off when Myst was released in 1993 by Cyan Worlds (now Cyan). The game used an interface that consisted of pictures and audio rather than text, making it much easier for players to navigate around an imaginary world made up entirely of puzzles. Since then, many other developers have tried their hand at creating adventure games as well. Some notable examples include: Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge (1991); Grim Fandango (1998); King’s Quest VI: Heir Today Gone Tomorrow (1992); Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (1996); Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (1993); Day of the Tentacle (1993); Full Throttle (1995).
Adventure games today
As time passed and technology advanced, so did adventure games. Players were given more freedom over their characters’ actions and could have more realistic interactions with other characters in the game. The graphics became more detailed and realistic as well. Today’s adventure games are almost unrecognizable from those early ones!
The most popular adventure games today

The game is set in a world where you are a small, adorable fox named TU-NI-K who has to save your village from the evil forest spirits. She gives you a sword and teaches you how to use it to fight enemies, which are also foxes like yourself (but evil). The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an adventure video game that places players in the shoes of Bilbo Baggins as he explores Middle-earth in search of treasure and adventure. The game features an original storyline created by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, along with award-winning screenwriters Philippa Boyens and Guillermo del Toro. The game consists of three acts: “The Hobbit”, “The Shire”, and “Moria”. In each act you will fight various enemies such as Orcs and Goblins.
